Our glamping trip in photos ~ Part 1

We are back from our glamping trip and we all had a ball. I am so pleased that we made the long trip down to Cornwall/Devon, so much so we are looking to go down again next year for longer.

As I said, we decided to stop on the way down to break the trip up. I struggled to find somewhere dog friendly that we could just pitch up to and unload bedding but eventually found Greenway Touring Park who had a dog friendly pod that we booked. After a 7 hour drive (damn m6!) we finally arrived.

We were most looking forward to the chimnea and we made the most of it, sitting outside with a few wee glasses of wine and relaxing.

The next morning we were up early to head on to Cornwall and we finally arrived in Bude in North Cornwall five hours later. That was one thing we noticed was that we need to add at least 1.5hrs to the sat nav for long trips due to stopping for food and the dog.

Watching the sun set over the bay from the front of our tent pitch.

Admiring the view from the campsite dog walking area.

Nothing like an Al fresco brew in the morning.

The next day we headed to just outside of Barnstaple in North Devon and hired some bikes and a dog trailer to cycle the Tarka Trail from Fremington to Instow and Bideford.

We cycled 15 miles – not bad for people who hadn’t been on a bike in years! The cycle trail is lovely and flat though so that helped.

The next day we headed off to Tintagel Castle on the north Cornwall coast. This was dog friendly throughout which is unusual. The climb up all the steps is an experience but the view from the top is gorgeous.

Once we were finished exploring and having a cliff top picnic we made our way around the coast road to Boscastle. Most people might remember the name from the news reports back in 2004 when a flash flood devastated the village. They have spent a huge amount of money on flood defences since then and the village has been totally restored and is gorgeous for a walk around.

It was then on for a breezy walk along Summerleaze Beach in Bude before heading back to the campsite.

The next day we went on to explore some of North Devon, visiting Woolacombe (amazing beach!) Ilfracombe (lovely harbour) and Heddon Valley in the Exmoor national Park.

Come back later in the week for part two of our trip.

It’s the small things ~ August Edition

It’s the small things that have made my month of August.

A rare trip to the football with the husband…good news was they won!

  Exploring local parks.
  And meeting giant Schnauzers.

  Getting the chop!
  Seeing very rare blue skies.
Finally having a day that you could class as ‘summer’
  Plenty of these.
And jumping in the changing rooms when I fitted comfortably into these.

After getting my 1st award from Slimming World group and overall loss of 3st at home.
Booking this amazing hotel for a weeks ultra all inclusive in November.

Seeing just how far I have come when I tried on my trousers from before I started losing weight for IVF.

Treating myself to a new Fitbit Charge HR.

 Enjoying some bubbles, just because.

Having an impromptu Schnauzer day out.

 Enjoying the sun setting.

Only going and blooming getting this in my Slimming World group.

 Preparing for a road trip.

Doing the most joyful work based task.

Engaging my inner child with a bit of Willy Wonka.

Smiling as I head away on our glamping trip. 3st 5lbs lighter.

Expect next months little things post be full of glamping, Cornish beaches and adventures!
